Robinhood Chain, the new layer-2 blockchain launched by trading platform Robinhood, has seen over $70 million in Ether bridged to the network during its first week of operation, according to data from Token Terminal. The rapid influx of ETH highlights strong early adoption and positions the chain as a potential new demand source for Ethereum. Robinhood Chain went live on July 1 as an EVM-compatible Arbitrum-based layer-2 network, using ETH as its native gas token and targeting applications in real-world assets (RWAs) and artificial intelligence. The amount of bridged ETH exceeded $70 million within seven days, reflecting significant user interest and capital migration.

Robinhood Chain is part of a broader strategy by Robinhood to expand into blockchain-based financial services. The company has also offered tokenized stocks to customers in over 120 countries, responding to growing demand for tokenized US equities. Ethereum and its layer-2 networks currently hold more than 50% of the tokenized RWA market share, according to RWA.xyz, and Robinhood’s move further cements Ethereum’s dominance in this sector. The chain’s design as an Arbitrum rollup leverages Ethereum’s security while providing faster and cheaper transactions.

Key figures from the first week underscore the chain’s traction. Token Terminal reported that daily active users reached 194,000, while daily revenue grew to $39,000, equivalent to a $14 million annualized revenue run rate. DefiLlama data shows total value locked at 46,748 ETH, worth approximately $83 million at current prices. Thursday alone saw inflows of 31,855 ETH, or roughly $55 million. Uniswap founder Hayden Adams noted that most activity on Robinhood Chain is ETH-denominated, with ETH serving as the base trading pair, highest volume asset, and gas token for blockspace.

The implications for Ethereum are significant. Andri Fauzan Adziima, research lead at Bitrue Research Institute, described the early volume as “strongly bullish,” validating the layer-2 flywheel and creating a “meaningful new demand sink.” By using ETH as the native gas token, every transaction generates direct, recurring demand while locking capital and onboarding Robinhood’s massive user base. This could counter recent bearish pressures on ETH prices, which have dropped 64% from their August 2025 peak to around $1,775.

Industry experts see this as a structural positive for ETH. Tim Sun, senior researcher at HashKey Group, stated that Robinhood’s choice to build its on-chain financial ecosystem within Ethereum solidifies the Ethereum mainnet’s position as the “ultimate settlement layer and liquidity foundation for tokenized assets.” He emphasized that beyond gas consumption, the deeper significance lies in Robinhood’s integration with Ethereum, which strengthens the network’s role in tokenized finance.

Looking ahead, bulls argue that Ethereum’s long-term growth thesis depends on RWA tokenization, agentic AI payments, institutional adoption, and network upgrades. The upcoming Glamsterdam upgrade, expected before end of 2026, aims to increase layer-1 capacity and could further boost demand. If Robinhood Chain continues its trajectory, it could become a meaningful new source of demand for ETH, potentially reversing current price lows. The chain’s rapid conversion of liquidity into economic activity, as noted by Token Terminal, suggests a promising future for both the platform and the Ethereum ecosystem.
