At the 23rd China International Digital Interactive Entertainment Exhibition (ChinaJoy), Xiaomi's REDMI K100 Pro Max smartphone was officially unveiled. The new device features a 6.9-inch ultra-narrow-bezel flat screen, a four-curved wrapped metal mid-frame, and an integrated metal DECO design, while also housing a massive 9070mAh battery, making it a focal point of the exhibition. Xiaomi REDMI Product Manager Hu Xinxin revealed that the new device achieves a 40% improvement in battery life compared to its predecessor, a metric that directly targets the core demand for long endurance among mobile gamers.
As the flagship model of the REDMI series, the K100 Pro Max continues the brand's focus on e-sports gaming experience. Hu Xinxin stated on her personal social media that the new device has polished the performance of the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen5 chip to a more mature level, with significant optimizations in frame stability and power consumption. This suggests that the device has been deeply tuned for high-load gaming scenarios, aiming to resolve issues of frequency throttling and overheating during extended play sessions.
In terms of core specifications, the K100 Pro Max is equipped with Xiaomi's first 185Hz high-refresh-rate gaming display, natively compatible with over 30 popular games, with a refresh rate specification far exceeding current mainstream models. Additionally, the new device pairs the fifth-generation Snapdragon 8 Supreme Edition processor with an AI discrete graphics chip D2, supporting concurrent game frame interpolation and super-resolution, enhancing both fluidity and resolution. Furthermore, a flagship-grade touch control chip upgrades the sampling rate to 480Hz, and combined with a dedicated gaming antenna design, effectively reduces operation latency and network delay.
For audio, the new device collaborates with Bose for gaming sound tuning, enhancing key sound effects such as gunfire and footsteps to further improve player situational awareness. These configurations demonstrate the REDMI K100 Pro Max's targeted optimization for FPS and MOBA mobile games, striving to deliver an immersive experience across visual, tactile, and auditory dimensions.
From a market perspective, the introduction of the 9070mAh battery and 185Hz screen will intensify competition in battery life and display technology among gaming phones. Currently, battery capacities of flagship gaming phones on the market typically range between 5500mAh and 6500mAh, and the K100 Pro Max's endurance advantage could become a key differentiating selling point. Meanwhile, the inclusion of the AI discrete graphics chip also reflects an industry trend shifting toward on-device AI rendering technology.
As the release date approaches, the industry is paying close attention to the device's performance in other aspects, such as the imaging system and operating system adaptation. Hu Xinxin emphasized performance maturity, suggesting that Xiaomi has fully optimized software-hardware synergy, and the device is expected to be officially launched in the second half of this year. For hardcore mobile gamers, this device, integrating a large battery, high-refresh-rate screen, and dedicated gaming chip, could become a new upgrade option.
