Figure Technology Solutions reported Thursday that its consumer loan marketplace volume reached $4.3 billion in the second quarter, up 132% from a year earlier. The fintech firm's quarterly profit nearly tripled, with net income jumping 192% to $87 million from about $30 million. Net revenue more than doubled to $226 million, and net income margin rose 10.5 percentage points to 38.8%.

The marketplace, launched in June 2024, handles home equity lines of credit, debt-service coverage ratio loans, personal loans, and third-party loans traded on Figure Connect. Figure Connect alone accounted for $2.8 billion, or 65%, of the quarterly volume. Marketplace volume surged 262% year over year, showing rapid adoption of Figure's blockchain-based lending ecosystem.

During the quarter, Figure added 102 loan-origination partners, bringing the total to 489. CEO Michael Tannenbaum said weekly loan applications surpassed $1 billion in July, a sign of accelerating demand. For the third quarter, Figure expects consumer loan marketplace volume between $4.8 billion and $5.2 billion, implying continued double-digit growth.

Figure's platform uses blockchain to record and verify every loan transaction, providing transparency that traditional credit markets often lack. Bernstein analysts noted in May that live blockchain data could allow investors to track Figure's lending activity in real time, enabling more accurate forecasts. They predicted record second-quarter volume—a projection that has now materialized, validating the power of on-chain analytics.

This real-time visibility helps reduce information asymmetry for investors, lending partners, and regulators. The margin expansion to 38.8% indicates that Figure's operational costs scale efficiently as transaction volumes grow. As a result, institutional interest in blockchain-based loan origination is likely to intensify, potentially reshaping consumer credit markets.

Industry analysts have responded positively, with Bernstein's bullish call now supported by actual earnings. Many view Figure as a bellwether for fintech lending efficiency, though some caution that rapid growth in consumer lending could attract increased regulatory scrutiny. Rising interest rates also pose a potential headwind for borrower demand, yet Figure's guidance remains strong.

Looking ahead, Figure's third-quarter guidance points to marketplace volume potentially exceeding $5 billion, a milestone that would cement its market position. The company expects to onboard additional loan-origination partners and expand its product suite in the coming months. Tannenbaum emphasized that its infrastructure is built to handle significantly higher volumes without major cost increases.

Figure's growth reflects a larger trend of tokenized real-world assets, which have surged 420% since early 2025 on the back of regulatory clarity and improved access. Blockchain-based lending is transitioning from experimental to mainstream as institutions seek efficient, transparent alternatives. With its latest results, Figure is positioning itself at the forefront of this transformation in financial services.
