Recently, Xiaomi demonstrated to the media its latest developed commemorative aluminum plate for the Xuan Jie O3 chip. This souvenir comes in a black packaging box, with the Xiaomi logo and the Xuan Jie XRING logo printed on the front. Upon opening, the aluminum plate is visible, engraved with the prominent "XRING O3" text and embedding a real Xuan Jie O3 chip. Below it is the personal autograph of Lei Jun, Xiaomi's founder, chairman, and CEO.
The Xuan Jie O3 chip was officially released on August 24th and is positioned as Xiaomi's "AI flagship SoC" designed for its highest-end products. This chip will be first equipped in two flagship devices: the Xiaomi 18 Fold foldable phone and the Xiaomi Pad 9 Pro Max tablet, marking a critical step for Xiaomi in the field of self-developed high-end chips.
In terms of performance, the Xuan Jie O3 features a ten-core all-big-core CPU design, comprising 6 ultra-large cores and 4 large cores, with a maximum clock speed reaching up to 4.35GHz. Its multi-core score has surpassed 15,000 points for the first time, representing a performance improvement of up to 60% compared to the previous generation. The GPU debuts the 16-core G2-Ultra NX graphics processor, supporting the third generation of ray tracing technology, with an 85% increase in graphics performance and a 64% reduction in power consumption.
The Xuan Jie O3 also achieves significant breakthroughs in memory support and AI capabilities. It is the world's first mobile processor to support LPDDR6 memory, with a memory bandwidth of up to 113.8GB/s, a 48% improvement over the Xuan Jie O1. Additionally, its NPU architecture has been completely restructured and is specifically designed for Xiaomi's self-developed on-device large model "Xiaomi MiMo," providing up to 200TOPS of tensor computing power, which boosts on-device AI performance by 45%.
In terms of image processing, the Xuan Jie O3 is equipped with Xiaomi's fifth-generation flagship ISP architecture. It supports a single camera up to 432 million pixels, with a triple camera combination supporting configurations of up to 64MP + 64MP + 50MP, and it supports 4K60FPS AINR night video recording. The chip also integrates an intelligent imaging engine aimed at enhancing computational photography capabilities on mobile devices.
Security performance is also a key focus of the Xuan Jie O3. This chip incorporates Xiaomi's self-developed RISC-V security core and has passed dual security certifications with national cryptographic algorithms and CCRC EAL5+ level, providing a higher level of protection for device data.
The debut of this commemorative aluminum plate is not only a commemorative display for the release of the Xuan Jie O3 chip but also reflects Xiaomi's emphasis on its achievements in self-developed chip technology. With the Xuan Jie O3 officially commercialized in flagship products like the Xiaomi 18 Fold, the market will conduct a more comprehensive evaluation of its actual performance and power efficiency.
Analysts point out that the improvements in performance, AI computing power, and process technology of the Xuan Jie O3 demonstrate Xiaomi's determination to continuously invest in chip research and development. The successful mass production and application of this chip will help Xiaomi enhance its technical competitiveness in the high-end smartphone and tablet markets and may influence future product pricing and market dynamics.
