Bitcoin exchange-traded funds (ETFs) have recorded their strongest three-week inflow streak of 2026, signaling renewed institutional demand for the leading cryptocurrency. US-listed spot Bitcoin ETFs drew $986.9 million in the latest week ending Friday, pushing total inflows over the past three weeks to $3.8 billion. This surge occurred as Bitcoin traded around the $80,000 level, despite a brief dip below $79,000 on Friday.
The performance represents a significant turnaround from heavy outflows earlier in 2026. Total net assets across these funds stood at $101.3 billion on Friday, having briefly reached $103.3 billion the previous day. Cumulative net inflows since their launch have now reached $55.6 billion, though year-to-date net flows remain approximately $1 billion negative due to the earlier sell-off.
Daily flows showed a cooling trend after a strong Thursday. Friday's $174.6 million inflow was down sharply from nearly $731 million the day before. BlackRock's iShares Bitcoin Trust (IBIT) dominated with $117.4 million, while Fidelity's Wise Origin Bitcoin Fund (FBTC) added $57.2 million; other funds saw no activity.
The slowdown coincided with Bitcoin's price falling from around $81,200 to briefly below $79,000 on Friday. At the time of reporting, it traded at $79,716, still up about 2.6% over the previous seven days. The market movement was linked to a surprise nonfarm payrolls report.
Bitcoin ETF demand is strengthening even as flows into other crypto asset funds fade. While Bitcoin ETF inflows increased about 7% week-over-week, inflows into US spot Ether and XRP ETFs plummeted by 74% and 83%, respectively. Ether ETF inflows dropped to $218.4 million, and XRP ETF inflows fell to $19 million.
Despite the weekly declines, Ether and XRP ETFs maintain positive year-to-date performance. US spot Ether ETFs have attracted approximately $863 million in net inflows for 2026, while XRP ETFs have drawn roughly $515 million. The data suggests a potential rotation of capital back toward Bitcoin as a primary institutional crypto asset.
The recent inflow streak indicates growing confidence among institutional investors, even amid short-term price volatility. Analysts will watch whether this momentum can be sustained as Bitcoin tests the critical $80,000 resistance level in the coming weeks.
