AI security startup HiddenLayer has secured $100 million in a Series B funding round, signaling robust investor confidence in the burgeoning market for protecting artificial intelligence systems. The investment was led by Delta-v Capital and included significant participation from investors such as Ten Eleven Ventures, Morgan Stanley, Microsoft’s M12, and Booz Allen Hamilton. This substantial capital injection will fuel the Austin-based company's mission to safeguard AI models, agents, and enterprise workflows from a growing landscape of cyber threats.

The funding comes as HiddenLayer demonstrates exceptional business traction. Co-founder and CEO Chris Sestito reported that the company's annual recurring revenue (ARR) grew more than tenfold over the past year, reaching the tens of millions of dollars. This explosive growth is primarily organic, with over 90% driven by new customers, including major financial services firms, large technology companies, and contracts with the U.S. Department of Defense and intelligence community.

HiddenLayer's core technology addresses a comprehensive range of AI vulnerabilities. The platform provides discovery, runtime protection, attack simulation, and supply chain security, now specifically tackling emerging risks like prompt injection, agent manipulation, and malicious tool use. As enterprise AI deployments proliferate, the company has expanded its focus to verify open-source and open-weight models, scanning dozens of AI file frameworks to detect hidden or mislabeled threats.

The new capital will be deployed to expand HiddenLayer's sales, engineering, and research teams. A key part of the growth strategy involves geographic expansion into Europe and the broader EMEA region. This move will help the company meet rising demand as organizations worldwide grapple with securing their AI infrastructure.

HiddenLayer's rapid growth is emblematic of a wider industry trend. Analysts at Gartner estimate global spending on AI security will reach approximately $2.83 billion this year. This market is projected to expand dramatically to nearly $4.78 billion by 2027, underscoring the critical and urgent need for advanced AI defense solutions.

With this significant Series B round, HiddenLayer is well-positioned to capitalize on the surging market. The funding validates its technology and customer adoption while providing the resources to scale globally. As AI becomes more integral to business operations, the tools to protect these systems are moving from a niche concern to a fundamental pillar of enterprise cybersecurity.
