US spot Bitcoin exchange-traded funds posted $462.7 million in net outflows last week, reversing a three-week inflow streak, while US spot Ether ETFs attracted $196.9 million in net inflows over the same period, according to Farside Investors. The Bitcoin withdrawals occurred across all four trading sessions from Tuesday to Friday in a holiday-shortened week. The divergence marks a sharp shift in investor appetite between the two largest cryptocurrency ETF categories. SoSoValue data confirmed the negative streak extended to four trading days.

The Bitcoin outflows followed the strongest three-week inflow run of 2026, which ended after the funds shed $166.8 million in the first two days of the week. Selling deepened on Thursday, when US spot Bitcoin ETFs recorded $282.7 million in net outflows, their largest daily withdrawal since July. Friday’s outflow slowed to $13.2 million but still kept the funds in negative territory. The weekly reversal came despite Bitcoin ETFs remaining positive for September overall.

At the fund level, ARK 21Shares Bitcoin ETF led weekly withdrawals with $234.2 million in net outflows, followed by Grayscale’s Bitcoin Trust ETF at $129.1 million. BlackRock’s iShares Bitcoin Trust ETF recorded $52.5 million in net outflows, while Fidelity’s Wise Origin Bitcoin Fund lost $50.7 million. Through Friday, spot Bitcoin ETFs still held about $307.3 million in net inflows for September. That cushion suggests the latest week was a setback rather than a full-scale exodus.

Ether funds moved in the opposite direction. US spot Ether ETFs recorded $196.9 million in net inflows over the same four-day period. Earlier in the week, flows were mixed: $24.3 million in outflows on Tuesday, $34.7 million in inflows on Wednesday and $29.9 million in outflows on Thursday. The week turned decisively positive on Friday, when the funds drew $216.4 million in net inflows.

BlackRock’s iShares Ethereum Trust ETF led Friday’s inflows with $148.8 million, followed by 21Shares Core Ethereum ETF, which added $29.1 million. The concentration of Ether inflows in a single day and a single fund indicates that institutional demand remains selective. It also contrasts with the broad-based selling pressure across Bitcoin ETFs during the week.

The reversal matters because spot crypto ETFs have become a key gauge of institutional sentiment. Bitcoin’s outflows may reflect profit-taking after the strong three-week run, while Ether’s inflows suggest investors are rotating toward the second-largest crypto asset. The data also highlights how quickly ETF flows can change direction in response to market conditions.

Looking ahead, market participants will watch whether Bitcoin ETF outflows continue or stabilize in the coming sessions. Ether ETF momentum will depend on whether Friday’s large inflow can be sustained. With September still positive for Bitcoin funds, the coming week could determine whether the latest reversal is temporary or the start of a deeper shift.
