Starting at 5999! No Need to Say More | Xiaomi 18 Pro Series Launch Event At last night’s launch event for the new Xiaomi 18 Pro series, we saw a number that came as a pleasant surprise: 5999. That’s right. In an era of soaring chip prices, soaring memory prices, and soaring costs of every kind, the Xiaomi 18 Pro series has still held its starting price at 5999—— The starting price is a pleasant surprise, and the other end of the price range brings one as well. In addition to four basic color options—black, white, pink, and blue—the Xiaomi 18 Pro series has also introduced a 16+1TB “Transparent Special Edition”: It’s a pity it isn’t called the “Transparent Exploration Edition,” but we have to admit that this may well be the finest example of Xiaomi’s industrial design on a slab-style phone in recent years. Xiaomi 18 Pro: Small and Refined One important point is that only the Xiaomi 18 Pro and Xiaomi 18 Pro Max models were announced at this launch event; the standard Xiaomi 18 was nowhere to be seen—— In an era of soaring prices for tech products, we may see this phenomenon become increasingly common in the future. Although all the specifications of the Xiaomi 18 Pro Max are exciting, when it comes to the biggest jump in specifications, it’s actually the slightly smaller Xiaomi 18 Pro that takes the crown. First, it features a “Super Pixel 2.0” hardware-level privacy screen that is exactly the same as the one on the Pro Max. Xiaomi boosts the pixel density and equips half of the privacy pixels with a light-blocking layer on the “Super Pixel 2.
