U.S. spot Bitcoin exchange-traded funds attracted $2.39 billion in net inflows during the week, their strongest tally of 2026 and the largest since the week ending Oct. 10, 2025. The result included $134.5 million of inflows on Friday, according to SoSoValue, and lifted the funds’ year-to-date total to roughly $926 million. The comeback marks a sharp reversal after cumulative 2026 flows had fallen deeply negative in July. It also shows that demand for regulated Bitcoin exposure returned even as the broader crypto market became more volatile.

The weekly haul surpassed the previous 2026 high of $1.92 billion, recorded in August, but remained below the $2.71 billion total logged in the week ending Oct. 10, 2025. SoSoValue’s figures highlight how quickly institutional sentiment around Bitcoin ETFs can change over relatively short periods. After investors recorded approximately $5.55 billion in year-to-date outflows in early July, sustained buying appears to have erased a substantial portion of that deficit. The scale of the recovery gives the latest rally in ETF demand additional significance.

Demand was strongest at the beginning of the week. Daily net inflows approached $1 billion on Monday before slowing to $134.5 million by Friday. Bitcoin simultaneously pulled back from above $87,100, suggesting that some investors took profits or became more cautious as the asset failed to hold its recent gains. Nevertheless, the slower final-day figure was not enough to undermine the exceptionally strong weekly result. It instead showed that Monday’s surge gave way to a more measured pace of buying.

Bitcoin traded at approximately $83,116 at the time of publication, down 1.6% over the preceding 24 hours but still up 1.7% over seven days, according to CoinGecko. The modest weekly gain contrasted with the $2.39 billion surge in ETF demand, illustrating that fund flows do not translate directly into immediate price appreciation. Market sentiment remained positive, with the Crypto Fear & Greed Index rising from 70 to 74. That reading kept investors in “Greed” territory, although the recent pullback offered a reminder that momentum can weaken quickly.

Capital expansion was not limited to Bitcoin. U.S. spot Ether ETFs received about $690 million in net inflows last week, reversing roughly $140 million in outflows during the previous week. Spot XRP ETFs also attracted approximately $76 million, extending investor interest beyond the two largest digital assets by market capitalization. Together, those totals indicate a broader recovery in demand for regulated crypto exposure. They also suggest that portfolio diversification, rather than purely Bitcoin-specific speculation, may have contributed to the week’s activity.

The immediate impact was a significant improvement in the health of U.S. spot crypto ETF flows following several months of severe weakness. Positive inflows can support deeper institutional participation, improve liquidity, and make regulated crypto products more attractive to advisers and larger investors. However, the uneven daily pace and Bitcoin’s retreat from $87,100 show that the response was not uniformly bullish. The market appears willing to re-enter risk but remains sensitive to price volatility and signs of demand exhaustion.

Looking ahead, the key question is whether the $2.39 billion weekly total represents a durable change in allocation or a short-term burst of momentum. Continued inflows could reinforce Bitcoin’s recovery and encourage additional demand for Ether and XRP products, while another reversal would reinforce the volatility that characterized earlier in the year. Macro conditions, Bitcoin’s ability to reclaim recent highs, and the sustainability of institutional buying will likely determine the next phase. For now, the latest data offers a cautiously optimistic outlook after a period of substantial ETF outflows.
