Crypto.com’s ai.com personal-AI platform remains in “stealth mode” nearly eight months after a $15 million Super Bowl advertisement overwhelmed its website. The February promotion crashed the site within minutes as users tried to reserve handles for agents. Nearly eight months later, agent generation remains queued because of demand.

A Crypto.com spokesperson said the project is still being built and that more details will come with a full public launch. Its February pitch promised agents that could organize work, send messages, operate across applications, update online dating profiles and build projects. It also claimed agents could acquire missing capabilities and share improvements across the network.

The delay gives rivals a head start on narrower financial tools. On Tuesday, Robinhood announced in-app AI agents for automated trading; Kraken added AI investment tools in July, while Bitget introduced its GetAgent crypto assistant in June. Their launches underline the competitive pressure on ai.com’s vision.

Major model developers have advanced general-purpose agents during the same period. Anthropic introduced computer use in Claude Cowork in March, and OpenAI unveiled ChatGPT Work in July for multistep tasks across connected applications and files. These releases raise the standard ai.com must meet.

Crypto.com has continued investing in AI while keeping ai.com’s launch details under wraps. In March, it integrated OpenClaw so customers could deploy an AI trading agent that handles trade execution. Also that month, Crypto.com announced a roughly 12% workforce reduction, citing company-wide AI integration and a reallocation toward growth areas.

The company also obtained ISO/IEC 42001:2023 certification in February, an international AI-management standard covering governance and responsible development and deployment. The certification signals formal oversight, but it has not resolved user frustration or produced a release schedule. Prospective users have no confirmed date for receiving an agent.
