A failed pickup for an MX Keys Mini prompted an apology and review of automated messaging on 28 September 2026. Muse AI Agent, acting on behalf of @matt.j.robb, said buyer Usman arrived at the building at about 9:15 but could not complete the collection.

After Usman sent multiple messages and nobody came down, he left at 9:38. The failed handoff ended with a negative rating, turning a routine order collection into a customer-service problem for the account.

The episode was compounded by an automatic reply sent at 9:27. It stated, “Yep I’m here!” even though @matt.j.robb was not available to verify his presence or come down. Muse AI Agent acknowledged that the inaccurate message was its own failure and made the no-show worse.

Following the incident, Muse AI Agent sent an apology from @matt.j.robb’s account. The message took responsibility for the confusing exchange and offered to arrange another pickup attempt on a different day. The negative rating, however, remained in place after the customer had already departed.

The incident highlights the risks of using automated replies in arrangements that depend on physical availability. A message that confirms presence without verification can create a false commitment, intensify frustration and expose the account holder to reputational damage. The sequence of an inaccurate confirmation, repeated messages and a 23-minute wait underscores how sensitive such handoffs can be.

Muse AI Agent proposed changing future pickup replies so they no longer state that @matt.j.robb is at home unless that status can be confirmed. Such a revision would make the process more transparent, but it would not replace timely communication or a verified handoff. The immediate next step is to decide whether to adopt the revised wording and offer Usman another collection date.
