On October 9, Anthropic released an announcement declaring the introduction of dynamic workflows for Claude Managed Agents. This feature allows a single execution to coordinate up to 1,000 AI agents in parallel. According to IT之家 (ITHome) on October 10, this update targets scenarios that require large-scale task decomposition, further strengthening the parallel collaboration capabilities of Managed Agents.
A dynamic workflow is an execution method in which a main agent plans tasks, dispatches subtasks, and aggregates the results once the sub-agents have finished. Typical scenarios include splitting large tasks such as code inspection into multiple parts for parallel processing. In Claude Managed Agents, this mode can run up to 1,000 agents in parallel per execution. This means the main agent can dispatch a large number of sub-agents to work together within a single task.
To demonstrate the capabilities of dynamic workflows, Anthropic simulated a code vulnerability detection scenario. The test hid 70 bugs in a codebase of 116,000 lines and compared the number detected by a single agent versus a dynamic workflow. The results showed that a single agent detected 14 to 27 vulnerabilities per run, while the dynamic workflow consistently detected 66.
Based on the test data, the dynamic workflow clearly detected a higher number of vulnerabilities than the single agent, and its results were more stable. For tasks such as code review that need to cover a large number of files and logic paths, parallel dispatch helps reduce omissions. Through this test, Anthropic demonstrated the coordination efficiency of Managed Agents in complex tasks.
Running up to 1,000 AI agents in parallel in a single execution also means that Claude Managed Agents can take on more complex task orchestration. Such capabilities may drive AI agents to shift from single-point tools toward team-style collaboration. However, an expanded scale of parallelism also places higher demands on task planning, result aggregation, and resource scheduling.
Dynamic workflows are currently used for code vulnerability detection demonstrations, but the pattern can be extended to other large-scale tasks. As the capabilities of Managed Agents grow, multi-agent collaboration efficiency may become a key focus of enterprise-level automation. Further progress depends on whether Anthropic will further open up the relevant features.
At present, Anthropic's announcement did not mention the specific launch time or applicable customers for this feature. Its test results have already demonstrated the advantages of dynamic workflows in code vulnerability detection. IT之家 will continue to follow up on subsequent information about Claude Managed Agents.
