Xiaomi REDMI officially announced on October 19 that the REDMI K100 phone will be officially released on October 27 at 7 p.m. The company also released two teaser slogans at the same time to build momentum for the new-generation product. This means that the new phone in this series is only about a week away from its official debut.

Official teaser information shows that the K100 has been given the title of “Dual-Chip Demon King,” with the standard version set to feature a dedicated gaming display chip for the first time. In addition, the company has also used the promotional phrase “10,000-level battery life,” saying it aims to challenge the strongest battery life experience in its class. The dedicated display chip and large-capacity battery have become the two core selling points repeatedly emphasized in this teaser campaign.

Before the official announcement, related configuration information had been leaked last week by digital blogger @Digital Chat Station. The blogger said that the standard version of the REDMI K100 packs Xiaomi’s largest battery, a dedicated display chip, a relatively large motor, and Bose dual speakers. He described the product’s configuration as the “no gimmicks” type, that is, concentrating resources on the core experience.

In terms of processor, the leak says the standard version of the REDMI K100 will be equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Elite processor. The blogger positioned it as a “3.5K tier product that offers a lot for the money,” pointing to the 3,500 yuan price segment. If the above information is true, the standard version is expected to offer a relatively outstanding combination of performance and configuration in the same price segment.

Bringing the dedicated gaming display chip down to the standard model is seen by outsiders as one of the main highlights of this upgrade. Dedicated display chips are usually used to improve frame rate stability and visual performance during gaming, and previously were mostly seen in higher-positioned models. If REDMI brings it to the standard version, it may affect the competitive landscape of products in the same tier.

Battery life is also a direction the company has emphasized. The phrase “10,000-level battery life,” combined with the leak about “Xiaomi’s largest battery,” shows that the new phone has made a relatively large investment in battery capacity. At a time when batteries and battery life are increasingly becoming the focus of competition among mid-to-high-end models, this selling point is highly attractive to heavy users.

With the release date confirmed, more details about the REDMI K100 are expected to be announced one after another over the next week. Whether the company will disclose the specific model of the dedicated display chip, the battery capacity, and the final price at that time will become the focus of market attention. According to the official schedule, the launch event is set to be held on October 27 at 7 p.m.
