Chery Fengyun New Energy announced on October 26 that the Fengyun A9 extended-range version has officially launched, offering two models: the 230km Max version and the 230km Max LiDAR version, with limited-time super trade-in prices starting at RMB 116,900 and RMB 126,900, respectively. The new car comes standard with a 28.3kWh Rhino battery and has a CLTC pure electric range of 230km.

Previously, the Chery Fengyun A9 pure electric version was launched on July 25, offering the 655km Pro version, 655km Max version, and 655km Max LiDAR version, with a launch guide price starting at RMB 109,900 and a super trade-in price starting at RMB 106,900. The addition of the extended-range version gives the Fengyun A9 a product layout with both pure electric and extended-range options running in parallel.

In terms of price, the launch guide price of the Fengyun A9 extended-range 230km Max version is RMB 119,900, with a limited-time super trade-in price starting at RMB 116,900; the 230km Max LiDAR version has a launch guide price of RMB 129,900, with a limited-time super trade-in price starting at RMB 126,900. The limited-time super trade-in price is RMB 3,000 lower than the launch guide price.

In terms of body dimensions, the Fengyun A9 extended-range version measures 4890Γ—1913Γ—1489mm in length, width, and height, with a wheelbase of 2900mm. The powertrain is equipped with a Golden range-extender dedicated engine with a peak power of 82kW and a fuel-to-electricity conversion efficiency of 3.71kWh/L. Together with the 28.3kWh Rhino battery, the new car's CLTC pure electric range reaches 230km.

Intelligent configuration is another highlight of the new car. The Fengyun A9 extended-range version supports Falcon assisted driving, adopting a combination of 1 lidar, 3 mmWave radars, 11 high-performance cameras, 12 new ultrasonic radars, and 1 high-performance intelligent driving chip. The system supports assisted driving functions such as urban NOA, highway NOA, and parking scenarios.

From a market perspective, the Fengyun A9 extended-range version enters the extended-range sedan market with a limited-time trade-in price starting at RMB 116,900, further lowering the purchase threshold for extended-range models. Its 230km pure electric range and assisted driving configuration are expected to attract consumers concerned with both daily commuting and long-distance travel needs.

With the launch of the extended-range version, Chery Fengyun New Energy has completed dual-power coverage of pure electric and extended-range on the A9 product line. Whether the new car can gain recognition in the highly competitive new energy sedan market will depend on the subsequent delivery pace and actual user experience. Its market performance also remains to be tested by time.
