According to a report by foreign media outlet Smartprix on October 26, several days after Apple's iPhone Duo went on sale, more users have reported "cracking" issues with the inner screen. Multiple cases show that cracks appear along the hinge area, and some devices also have bright horizontal lines or pixel abnormalities on half of the screen. Related topics have become trending on social platforms.

One U.S. user said that their iPhone Duo had not completed initial setup when the screen cracked after being folded about four times. The user said the hinge felt relatively tight before the failure, then suddenly made a loud noise. After the user arrived at an Apple Store in Dallas, an employee immediately replaced the phone and said this was the first similar case that day.

Another user said the phone's screen cracked while the phone was closed and charging, less than 24 hours after purchase. The user emphasized that the device had never been dropped, nor had they pressed on the inner screen while folding it. Apple agreed to replace the device, but the store had no stock and could not replace it immediately.

Indian user Vishnu Rajkumar posted on Platform X that their iPhone Duo had suffered screen cracking and that they had reported it to a store. While waiting for a response, news appeared online of other users encountering the same fault. Rajkumar said Apple had replaced devices within hours in other regions, but the Indian store said it currently had no inventory and could only wait for the next shipment.

Since the iPhone Duo has only been on sale for a few days, the cases reported so far are still limited relative to the total number of devices sold. The original article said it is not yet enough to prove that the product has a widespread design or manufacturing defect. However, the "inner-screen issue" has drawn user attention to the durability of foldable screens.

According to Apple's usual after-sales policy, if such a problem occurs during normal use of the device, users are expected to be able to go to a local Apple Store for a free replacement. In multiple cases, Apple has agreed to or completed replacements, but in some regions replacement times have been delayed due to inventory constraints. After-sales processing progress varies by region.

At present, Apple has not publicly responded. The number of subsequent cases and the progress of replacements are being watched. Consumers are also waiting for a clear solution.
