The tech industry is entering a dense window of product launches and earnings reports. Apple unveiled its first touchscreen MacBook Pro, Google DeepMind updated its flagship model, and Microsoft and SK Hynix delivered their latest quarterly results. AI hardware, cloud services, and memory chips became the market’s focal points, with multiple data points reflecting changes in demand structure.

Apple released new MacBook Pro models equipped with PROLED XDR displays, offering 14-inch and 16-inch versions. For the first time, it brought a touchscreen and Dynamic Island to the Mac, and the machines are powered by M5 Pro or M5 Max chips. The glowing Apple logo on the lid returns with the new design. Both models use tandem OLED panels, with HDR and SDR peak brightness of up to 2,000 nits, and support a 10Hz to 120Hz ProMotion adaptive refresh rate. The bodies are also lighter: the 14-inch and 16-inch models weigh about 1.38 kg and 1.82 kg, respectively, and the mainland China starting price is RMB 22,999.

Google DeepMind released its new-generation flagship model Gemini 4 Carbon, about two weeks after the launch of Gemini 4 Argon. In Artificial Analysis’s Intelligence Index v5.0, Carbon (High) ranked first with 59 points, ahead of Claude Opus 5.5 (Max) at 58 points. This upgrade focuses on long-horizon programming and cybersecurity, scoring 88.2%, 54.8%, and 71.0% on SEC-bench Pro, ExploitGym, and CWE-bench, respectively. Starting this week, Carbon is being opened to some cybersecurity defense organizations, with initial pricing at $2 per million input tokens and $10 per million output tokens.

Microsoft’s revenue for the first quarter of fiscal 2027, ended September 30, was $92.279 billion, up 19% year over year; GAAP net income was $36.629 billion, up 32%. Microsoft Cloud revenue was $63.9 billion, up 30%, of which Azure revenue was $33.165 billion, up 48%. In contrast, Windows OEM and devices revenue fell 22%, and Xbox content and services revenue fell 2%.

SK Hynix’s third-quarter revenue reached KRW 104.6155 trillion, and operating profit was KRW 83.3338 trillion, both quarterly records; net profit was KRW 39.7756 trillion. AI server memory was an important source of growth, server DDR5 sales increased significantly, and HBM4 began to expand shipments. The company has signed long-term agreements with 14 major customers, including large cloud service providers, locking in more than 50% of total capacity for 2027 and 2028. SK Hynix judges that undersupply in the memory market may continue until 2030.

Alphabet’s third-quarter revenue was $127.577 billion, up 25% year over year; operating income was $40.576 billion, with an operating margin of 31%; Google Cloud revenue doubled, but free cash flow in the quarter was a net outflow of $9.065 billion. On the regulatory front, South Korea penalized Google and Apple over in-app payment restrictions, with fines of KRW 42.9 billion and KRW 20.81 billion, respectively. New York State signed a new AI companion law, prohibiting the provision of anthropomorphic relationship features to minors.

In other developments, Marvell is in talks to acquire optical communications vendor Lumentum, and OpenAI plans to procure Google TPUs and hire engineers to adapt frontier models. SpaceXSI is hiring sushi chefs at up to $35 per hour, with the ability to stand for 10 hours a day required. Anthropic’s Dario Amodei said programmers’ coding work will be the first to be replaced by AI. Domestically, Unitree and Sequoia China established the Shanyu · Chuang Plan; ChangXin Technology was included in the Shanghai Composite Index, ranking first with a 4.67% weight. Looking ahead, demand for AI infrastructure is still expanding, but the consumer device business and regulatory pressure are emerging at the same time, and model commercialization pricing and the pace of openness remain to be tested.
