Anthropic introduced enterprise reporting tools that show customers the value they get from token spending. The launch follows investor financials showing an operating profit in the second quarter and 900% net revenue retention for Claude Code. The tools give managers a clearer view of AI costs and output.

The reports draw on internal analytics and employee surveys. They let managers see what a team produced over a set period, what it cost, and where workflows broke down. Each report also includes recommendations for improvement. Anthropic said the data will not be used for model training by default.

Anthropic is also introducing pooled group budgets to help teams manage token spend. The controls aim to make enterprise AI usage more predictable as adoption expands. The reporting suite connects spending to measurable team outcomes. It also gives finance and engineering leaders shared visibility.

A Jellyfish report covering 276,000 users found that tools built on Anthropic models account for nearly a third of proposed code changes. Spending on those tools rose tenfold this year to about 2% of engineering costs. Chief scientist Nicholas Arcolano said most CFOs did not plan for that growth. Companies now need to optimize their spending, he added.

The figures underscore how quickly AI coding tools can move from pilots to major budget lines. Anthropic is positioning reporting and budget controls as ways to help customers justify that shift. The tools also address a common enterprise concern: proving return on AI investment.

AI product lead Nikolas Albarran said OpenAI's Codex has gained ground since its Astra model. He argued that Anthropic's enterprise approach and standardized workflows mean customers see little reason to switch. He added that switching costs are rising as organizations invest in a single platform. The new controls may help Anthropic defend that position as competition intensifies.
