Tech media outlet 91Mobile published a blog post on August 3, revealing high-resolution renders of the Xiaomi Redmi 17 5G smartphone, showcasing three color options: orange, black, and blue. The orange version features a vegan leather finish, offering a better grip compared to the blue and black versions. The device measures 170.12 Γ— 74.42 Γ— 8.8 mm and weighs 235 grams.

From the renders, the overall design of the Xiaomi Redmi 17 5G continues the minimalist style typical of the Redmi series, with a vertically arranged rear camera module. Notably, the orange vegan leather version is relatively rare in previous Redmi models and could become one of the key selling points of this device.

In terms of display, the phone features a 6.9-inch LCD screen with a resolution of 1600Γ—720, supporting 60Hz, 90Hz, and 120Hz refresh rate settings. The typical brightness is 675 nits, reaching up to 825 nits in high-brightness mode, which can meet user needs in bright outdoor environments.

Under the hood, the Xiaomi Redmi 17 5G is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 4 Gen 5 chip, built on a 4nm process with a clock speed of 2.45GHz. For imaging, it sports a 50MP AI main camera, supplemented by a QVGA sensor with anti-flicker functionality, and an 8MP front camera for daily shooting needs.

Battery life is a major highlight, as the phone packs a 7,500mAh large-capacity battery and supports 45W wired charging. For connectivity, the device is expected to support dual nano SIM cards, be compatible with 5G and 4G networks, and include Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.1, and NFC. Additionally, it retains a 3.5mm headphone jack and stereo speakers, enhancing the media consumption experience.

From the specs, the Xiaomi Redmi 17 5G is positioned in the mid-range market, focusing on long battery life and a large screen. The 7,500mAh battery paired with the low-power Snapdragon 4 Gen 5 chip is expected to deliver excellent endurance. Though the 6.9-inch LCD screen has a modest resolution, the triple refresh rate settings help balance smoothness and power consumption.

With the renders now exposed, the launch timeline has also drawn attention. Following the usual update rhythm of the Redmi series, the Redmi 17 5G is expected to officially debut in the coming months. At that time, its actual pricing and more details will be revealed, potentially reshaping the competitive landscape of the mid-range smartphone market.
