Bitcoin ETFs have extended their buying streak to eight consecutive days, pulling in approximately $2.8 billion over the period. On Wednesday alone, U.S. spot Bitcoin funds attracted about $232 million in net inflows, according to data from SoSoValue. This sustained run has pushed August's total inflows above $3 billion, marking it the strongest month for the products in 2026 so far.

This surge follows a period of significant outflows earlier in the year. Bitcoin ETFs remain net negative for 2026 by roughly $2.5 billion, indicating that the recent inflows have recovered just over half of the capital lost between May and July. The momentum is also broadening to other crypto assets, with Ether ETFs matching the eight-day streak, adding $192 million on Wednesday and surpassing $1 billion in total inflows.

Other altcoin-focused products saw positive flows, including $28 million into XRP funds and $15 million into HYPE products. Net assets for Bitcoin ETFs closed Tuesday just above $99 billion, up from about $77 billion in mid-August. However, it is noted that most of this $22 billion gain in assets was driven by price appreciation rather than fresh capital.

BlackRock's IBIT product is dominating the inflows, absorbing about 62% of Monday's total and approximately $1.3 billion last week alone. The firm's dominance highlights the preference among investors for established, large-scale fund providers in the spot Bitcoin ETF market. This concentration of capital could influence competitive dynamics among issuers.

With three trading sessions left in August, analysts suggest another $160 million in inflows would make it the biggest month since the products' peak demand period. The sustained buying reflects renewed investor confidence, potentially spurred by market conditions or broader financial trends. However, the year-to-date deficit underscores the volatility and sensitivity of these products to market sentiment.

The outlook depends on maintaining this momentum. If inflows continue, they could help repair the full-year performance and signal a lasting shift in institutional appetite. The performance of Bitcoin ETFs is often seen as a barometer for mainstream adoption of digital assets, making this streak a closely watched development in the cryptocurrency and traditional finance sectors.
