US-listed spot Ether and XRP exchange-traded funds saw their multi-day inflow streaks end on Wednesday, April 23, 2025, marking a notable shift in investor sentiment. Spot Ether ETFs experienced $48 million in net outflows, concluding a 12-day run that had attracted $1.62 billion. Similarly, XRP funds recorded $7.2 million in outflows, ending an 11-session inflow period that brought in approximately $170 million.

This reversal occurred against a backdrop of declining cryptocurrency prices. Over the past week, Ether led losses with a 3.4% drop, followed by XRP at 2.4% and Bitcoin at 1.3%. At the time of the report, Ether traded at $2,407, XRP at $1.36, and Bitcoin at $77,744.

The outflows from Ether ETFs were primarily led by major funds. BlackRock’s iShares Ethereum Trust ETF (ETHA) saw $53.4 million in outflows. Fidelity’s Ethereum Fund (FETH) and Grayscale’s Ethereum Staking ETF (ETHE) lost $26.2 million and $23.5 million, respectively.

A partial offset to these withdrawals came from BlackRock’s staked Ether ETF (ETHB), which recorded approximately $53 million in net inflows. This suggests some investor differentiation between standard and staked Ethereum products.

In contrast to the altcoin funds, Bitcoin ETFs rebounded significantly. They drew $101.2 million in inflows on Wednesday, following $236.5 million in net outflows the previous day. This indicates a possible rotation of capital back into Bitcoin from other assets.

The end of the inflow streaks for Ether and XRP ETFs signals a potential cooling of the recent demand surge for altcoin exposure via regulated products. The simultaneous rebound in Bitcoin ETF flows highlights the ongoing dominance of Bitcoin as a primary institutional investment vehicle in the crypto market.

Looking ahead, market participants will closely monitor whether this flow shift is a temporary pause or the beginning of a more sustained trend. The performance of crypto prices will remain a key driver for future ETF investor activity.
