Shanghai police recently successfully cracked a case involving the development and sale of cheats for Tencent's game 'Delta Force'. With the assistance of Tencent's game security team, police carried out an operation in Dandong, Liaoning, arresting the developers and general agents of two cheat programs, OBS and OBX-AI, and seizing the cheat source code on site. Currently, two suspects have been subjected to criminal coercive measures by Shanghai police in accordance with the law. This operation marks a full-chain crackdown on the cheat gang.

According to Tencent, the main culprit in this case used open-source code from public networks for illegal processing and compilation to create the OBS and OBX-AI cheat programs. The general agents recruited sub-agents through game communication groups and promoted and sold the cheats via online platforms, gradually building a multi-level sales network. The source code seized by police on site provided key evidence for the case investigation, ensuring the precision of the crackdown operation.

Tencent's game security team pointed out that the cheat black market often packages products with phrases like 'AI-adhered new cheats' and 'technically stable' to attract cheating players. In reality, the security team has achieved precise detection and rapid crackdown on various AI cheats. The online anti-cheat system operates 24/7 without interruption, and any cheating behavior using cheats will face account bans and blacklisting to maintain a fair gaming environment.

The successful cracking of the OBS/OBX-AI cheat case is another achievement by Tencent's game security team in cooperating with public security organs to combat cheat crimes since the launch of 'Delta Force'. Since the game's launch, the team has continuously assisted police across the country in legally cracking down on illegal and criminal activities involving the production, sale, and profit from game cheats. Previously, numerous related cases have been solved.

According to official case information, over the past two years, cases involving cheats for 'Delta Force' have resulted in the arrest of over 150 suspects, with amounts involved exceeding 50 million yuan. These figures reveal the scale of the game cheat black market and the economic losses it causes to the industry, as well as reflecting the determination of law enforcement agencies and game companies to jointly combat it.

Tencent's game security team stated that they will continue to invest in technology research and development to enhance anti-cheat capabilities and actively cooperate with public security organs in law enforcement operations. In the future, the team plans to further upgrade security strategies to address evolving cheat technologies, such as DMA cheats and other hardware cheating methods, aiming to curb the cheat black market at its source and protect the legitimate rights and interests of players.

This operation also sent a severe warning to potential cheat producers and sellers. Legal professionals pointed out that developing and selling game cheats may involve multiple criminal offenses such as damaging computer information systems, facing severe legal penalties. The healthy development of the game industry depends on a fair and safe environment, requiring joint efforts from companies, police, and players to maintain it.
