Huawei today officially launched the Pura X View wide bar phone at the HarmonyOS 7 and All-Scenario New Product Launch Event, with a starting price of 5,999 yuan. The device will go on first sale at 10:08 on September 9. The company is simultaneously offering five purchase benefits and a college student exclusive discount of up to 944 yuan. This launch marks Huawei's further push in the wide-screen form-factor phone segment, as it attempts to reshape the bar phone experience with a differentiated screen aspect ratio.

In terms of pricing, the Pura X View comes in three storage versions: 12GB+256GB at 5,999 yuan, 12GB+512GB at 6,999 yuan, and 12GB+1TB at 8,499 yuan. The company also introduced two matching protective cases: a vegan leather magnetic case priced at 129 yuan and a pen-box-style case priced at 469 yuan, both going on sale on the same day as the first sale. Judging from the pricing strategy, the device is positioned as a high-end flagship, directly competing with mainstream imaging flagship models on the market.

In terms of body design, the Pura X View has a thickness of only about 6.68 mm and weighs about 201 grams, and is available in four color options: Yueying Red, Linen Gray, Zero White, and Phantom Night Black. The front features a panel with a 2232Γ—1320 resolution and a 16:9.5 aspect ratio, with uniform 1.05 mm bezels on all four sides. It supports 2160Hz high-frequency PWM dimming and reaches a peak brightness of 6,500 nits. This unique screen aspect ratio sits between traditional bar phones and foldable screens, aiming to balance grip comfort and display area.

The imaging system is the highlight of this upgrade. The device is equipped with the industry-exclusive 200MP RYYB ultra-light-gathering main camera, featuring a 1/1.28-inch large sensor and an F/1.8 aperture. It also includes a red maple true-color camera, a 50MP ultra-light-gathering periscope telephoto lens, and a 112-degree ultra-wide-angle lens. On the software side, it supports AI pose recommendation and 3D motion photos, further enhancing portrait and dynamic scene shooting capabilities.

Around the wide-screen form factor, Huawei has developed scenario-based experiences such as wide-screen video watching, wide-screen reading, wide-screen gaming, and wide-screen office work. The device comes pre-installed with HarmonyOS 7 and debuts the Huawei Share remote sending feature, allowing users to remotely share images, videos, documents, compressed files, and other content to contacts who are not nearby. This feature breaks through the limitations of traditional near-field transmission and expands the boundaries of cross-device collaboration.

In terms of core specifications, the Pura X View is powered by the Kirin 9030S processor, paired with an integrated full-area VC cooling plate and a ring-type gain antenna. It houses a 7000mAh silicon-negative-electrode battery and features a 4-microphone array. The large-capacity battery and efficient cooling design ensure a reliable experience for long gaming and video sessions, while the ring antenna is expected to improve signal reception stability.

Industry analysts believe that the launch of the Pura X View reflects Huawei's innovative exploration in the bar phone form factor, creating differentiated competitiveness through a special screen aspect ratio and imaging hardware. However, the starting price of 5,999 yuan is not low compared with similar flagships, and market acceptance remains to be seen. As the first sale date approaches, consumers will test the true appeal of this wide bar phone with their actual purchasing decisions. In the future, whether Huawei can further expand its share in the high-end market with this model deserves continued attention.
