IT Home, October 12 β The operations team for Tencent's The Division 2 (China Server) has announced that, due to changes in business development strategy and following friendly negotiations with the developer, the game's operations in mainland China will officially cease on December 14, 2026 at 11:00 AM. This decision is accompanied by a timeline for several services, including in-game purchases, registration, servers, the official website, forums, and customer service. The publisher has also launched a compensation campaign covering users' unconsumed tokens and game services that have not yet expired.
According to IT Home, The Division 2 was jointly developed by multiple studios including Ubisoft Shanghai and Ubisoft Massive, and is a AAA-level open-world adventure shooter played from a third-person perspective. The China server was operated by Tencent and officially launched in November 2023. This shutdown means the game's China server will terminate its services.
The operations team has announced a three-phase schedule. At 11:00 AM on October 12, 2026, in-game top-ups and new user registration will be stopped. At 11:00 AM on December 14, 2026, game operations will officially cease, with game servers and the official website shut down, and users will no longer be able to log into the game. At 11:00 AM on December 22, 2026, the forums and dedicated customer service will be closed.
The publisher has launched a compensation campaign. The involved gift packs, vouchers, and lucky draws simultaneously serve as replacements for users' unconsumed tokens (premium points) in their game accounts and game services that have not yet expired (if any). Once a user participates in the compensation campaign, it is deemed as acceptance of the compensation or replacement plan. If a user fails to participate in the compensation campaign within the specified period, it will be deemed as automatic forfeiture of the right to compensation or replacement.
Users who topped up in The Division 2 before 11:00 AM on October 12, 2026, and still have tokens remaining in their accounts are eligible to participate in the compensation. During the compensation campaign period, users can access the compensation page and claim relevant gift packs based on their account balance. Claimable gift packs cover the mobile games Game for Peace (Game of Peace), Teamfight Tactics Mobile, and Honor of Kings, as well as the PC games Valorant and CrossFire.
The claiming rules are as follows: If the balance is greater than 0 and less than or equal to 1,000, the user can claim one gift pack worth 10 RMB (Tier A). If the balance is greater than 1,000 and less than or equal to 10,000, the user can claim a gift pack worth 100 RMB (Tier B). If the balance is greater than 10,000 and less than or equal to 50,000, the user can claim a gift pack worth 500 RMB (Tier C). If the balance is greater than 50,000, the number of gift packs claimable equals the account balance divided by 50,000, rounded up (i.e., the decimal portion is rounded up and 1 is added). For example, if the account balance is 60,000, the user can claim 2 gift packs worth 500 RMB each.
According to official notes, in-game tokens refer to premium points obtained through paid channels that have not been consumed, and do not include tokens that can be claimed for free within the game. As of October 12, 2026, if an account still has paid subscription services that have not yet expired β namely paid monthly and weekly cards listed under the Store Privileges category in the in-game shop β the remaining days will be multiplied by the daily unit price of the purchase price and converted to RMB at a ratio of 1:100 between RMB and premium points, then merged into the account balance for the shutdown compensation campaign, which can be used for gift pack claiming.
For players, the compensation campaign has set clear deadlines and conversion rules, and claims must be completed within the specified time frame, otherwise the relevant rights may become void. As the December 14, 2026 shutdown date approaches, services related to the China server will be gradually closed in the order announced. The forums and dedicated customer service will also close at 11:00 AM on December 22. Players should pay attention to the official compensation page to handle unconsumed tokens and unexpired services in their accounts.
