IT Home, October 14 news: Doubao Mobile Assistant announced today in a post that the 30-day public comment period for its "Screen Automation Operation Declaration Protocol" (SAEP, Screen Automation Execution Protocol) has ended, and it will now gradually open screen automation operation permissions for third-party apps. This adjustment means that screen automation operations by Doubao Mobile Assistant agents in third-party apps will enter a new execution phase.
According to Doubao Mobile Assistant, SAEP is a declaration protocol established around screen automation operations. After the public comment period ends, developers can still declare refusal at any time, and Doubao Mobile Assistant will promptly disable the relevant operations. For apps that have explicitly declared refusal, the agent will not operate on them.
The latest list of apps refusing operations covers multiple fields. Social and content categories include Zhihu, Maimai, Momo, Tantan, Xiaohongshu, Kuaishou, AcFun, NetEase Cloud Music, etc.; finance and tools categories include China Merchants Bank, Pocket Life, Compass Stock, Xueqiu, ICBC (Asia), Industrial and Commercial Bank of China, China Telecom, China Unicom, China Mobile, WPS, Baidu Maps, etc.; travel, e-commerce, and life services categories include Umetrip, Qunar, Pinduoduo, Meituan, Meituan Waimai, Dianping, Maoyan, Vipshop, etc. In addition, Kimi, DeepSeek, Mijia, BOSS Zhipin, Super Curriculum Schedule, etc. are also on the refusal list.
Alibaba and related ecosystem apps are likewise included. The list shows that Cainiao, Amap, Hello, Damai, Hema, Tmall, Taobao, Xianyu, 1688, Diantao, Alipay, Ele.me, Koubei, Fliggy, DingTalk, Youku, Quark, Shuqi Novel, Alibaba Cloud, UC Browser, etc. all explicitly refuse. This means that when Doubao Mobile Assistant agents perform screen automation operations within the above apps, they will be explicitly restricted.
Tencent and related ecosystem apps also explicitly refuse. The list includes WeChat, WeCom, QQ, QQ Music, WeChat Reading, QQ Browser, Tencent Video, Tencent Self-Selected Stocks, Yuanbao, QQ Mail, MyApp, Tencent Maps, Tencent Meeting, Tencent Docs, Huya Live, Tencent News, Kugou Music, WeSing, Honor of Kings, Peacekeeper Elite, League of Legends: Wild Rift, etc. The above apps cover multiple high-frequency scenarios such as social networking, office work, entertainment, and gaming.
In terms of impact, the refusal list involves a large number of apps that users frequently use in daily life, and the scope in which Doubao Mobile Assistant agents can perform screen automation operations has therefore been significantly compressed. Developers retaining the right to refuse at any time also makes the permission boundary between the platform and apps clearer. For users, whether an agent can operate within a certain app will directly depend on whether that app has declared refusal.
Looking ahead, Doubao Mobile Assistant said that after the public comment period ends, developers can still declare refusal at any time, and it will promptly disable the relevant operations. This means the refusal list is not fixed and unchanging; it may dynamically adjust with developers' choices. How to balance agent automated operations with third-party platform control rights still awaits further industry observation.
