According to an October 14 report from ITHome, multiple users have reported that several Apple iPhone models underwent a China-market filing renewal on September 29, adding three large-model filing numbers: Shanghai-AppleZhiNeng-202506160057, Shanghai-TongYiWanXiang-202410090024, and ZheJiang-TongYiQianWen-20230901. The filing information shows that the related models cover the iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 15 Pro Max, and subsequent products. This move is seen as an important signal in the progress of China-market Apple Intelligence features.
An ITHome search found that Apple's iPhone 15 Pro / Pro Max and subsequent models all added large-model filing numbers on September 29; the models involved also include iPhone Air and iPhone Duo. In contrast, the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus did not update their filings. This difference aligns with the range of models supported by Apple Intelligence. Public information shows that Apple Intelligence supports the iPhone 15 Pro series and subsequent models.
Judging from the filing numbers, the large models associated with Apple this time include Apple Intelligence, Tongyi Wanxiang, and Tongyi Qianwen. Among them, Apple Intelligence corresponds to the number Shanghai-AppleZhiNeng-202506160057, Tongyi Wanxiang corresponds to Shanghai-TongYiWanXiang-202410090024, and Tongyi Qianwen corresponds to ZheJiang-TongYiQianWen-20230901. The simultaneous appearance of the three numbers in China-market iPhone filing information indicates that Apple is making multi-party preparations for both on-device and cloud AI services.
In terms of background, the Wangxin China WeChat official account published an announcement in July this year about seven models providing mobile on-device generative artificial intelligence services that have completed filing information. The announcement showed that the Apple Intelligence large model of Apple Technology Development (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. was filed on July 8, 2026, and its applicable scenario is Apple mobile phones. This means that AI features for China-market iPhones are expected to launch faster.
