Michael Saylor said Strategy could create up to $30 billion in digital credit to fund more Bitcoin purchases without a new common-stock raise or further Bitcoin price appreciation. The executive chairman outlined the capacity during Strategy’s third-quarter earnings call. He said the Bitcoin treasury company could generate the amount from its existing balance sheet.
The move highlights Strategy’s shift toward preferred shares such as STRC to finance Bitcoin accumulation. CEO Phong Le said issuing digital credit would be the primary method for acquiring more Bitcoin. He added that if Strategy raised $1 billion to $2 billion in a month through STRC, it could place some proceeds in dollar reserves and spend the rest on Bitcoin.
Strategy reported $19.53 billion in third-quarter net income, driven largely by a $20.91 billion gain in the value of its digital assets. Its Bitcoin holdings reached 848,517 BTC as of Oct. 25, up 26% year to date. The results underscore the company’s scale as a Bitcoin-focused treasury vehicle.
Saylor said the company could create $10 billion, $20 billion, or $30 billion in digital credit. The $30 billion figure represents possible capacity, not an announced fundraising target. The company has not disclosed a specific timeline for the additional Bitcoin purchases.
The financing strategy could allow Strategy to expand its Bitcoin holdings while limiting dilution from common equity. Preferred-share issuance may also appeal to investors seeking yield tied to the company’s digital-asset strategy. However, the company did not announce a new purchase or financing transaction on the call.
Strategy also disclosed that CFO Andrew Kang will step down on Nov. 5 for personal reasons. Le will oversee the finance function until Reza Virasteh takes over as CFO on Jan. 1, 2027. The company continues to signal that Bitcoin accumulation remains central to its strategy.
